But life has a funny way of leading us exactly where we're meant to be.
If you had told me years ago that I would become a nurse practitioner in my 50s, own my own business, and spend my days helping women navigate some of the most important seasons of their lives, I'm not sure I would have believed you.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent many years as a dental hygienist. I loved caring for patients and building relationships, but there was always a part of me that wondered what else might be possible.
As my children got older, I felt a pull toward something bigger—a dream that refused to go away. So I did something that felt equal parts exciting and terrifying:
I went back to school.
It wasn't too late. Not too late to learn, to grow, to build something meaningful, and definitely not too late to dream again.
As a wife, a mother, and a woman in midlife, returning to school wasn't easy. There were long nights, early mornings, moments of doubt, and plenty of times I questioned whether I was crazy for starting over, but I also know something deep inside me:
My own health journey
My passion for women's health isn't just professional, it's personal. Like many women, I entered midlife and began experiencing changes that I didn't fully understand.
My energy wasn't the same. My sleep wasn't the same. I didn't feel as strong, vibrant, or connected to myself as I once had. I wanted answers. More importantly, I wanted someone who would listen.
When I finally found a provider who took the time to understand what I was experiencing and help me create my own plan, everything changed.
Beginning my own hormone and wellness journey helped me feel stronger, more energized, more confident, more hopeful, and most importantly, like myself again.
What changed everything
During my nurse practitioner clinical training, I had the opportunity to work alongside providers who specialized in women's health, hormone optimization, wellness, and medical weight loss.
I watched women walk into appointments feeling exhausted, discouraged, frustrated, and overwhelmed.
And I watched them leave feeling educated, empowered, hopeful, and excited about their future again.
That transformation fascinated me.
Not because of the prescriptions or the treatments, but because of what I saw happen when women finally felt heard.
Why I created Verity
Verity means truth, and truth sits at the center of everything I do. I created Verity because I wanted to build the kind of practice I had been search for myself—a place where women feel comfortable asking questions. A place where they feel respected, educated, supported, and heard.
